NOVA’s DREAMers Website to Launch This Week

August 30, 2021 / Our Nighthawks

NOVA is excited to unveil an updated website specifically dedicated to DREAMers–undocumented, DACA and TPS holders. This website was created to provide accurate and timely information to assist DREAMers as they navigate the admissions process. Moreover, this revamped site also contains valuable information about services and supports that promote the success of immigrant students. Aligning with our priorities, it is our mission to be a more welcoming and inclusive institution to all our immigrant students. We also want to assist undocumented students in overcoming the obstacles that they often encounter as they navigate higher education.

This site is a resource for future and current students, faculty, staff and the community alike. It contains information about the admissions process, student support services, external resources and crucial information about the tuition equity provision that now allows undocumented students to be considered for in state tuition. Faculty and staff will also find a variety of guides and resources to help them provide the highest level of support for immigrant students, regardless of their immigration status. In addition, there will be a series of professional development opportunities later in the semester to educate faculty and staff to promote safe, inclusive and equitable learning experiences for all students.

We invite you to visit this updated website to explore the content and share these resources with students, colleagues and the local community. If you have any questions, you may contact Rommel Aguilar (AN), raguilar@nvcc.edu, or Monica Gomez (LO), mogomez@nvcc.edu
