Dr. Anne Kress Recognized as WBJ’s “Women Who Mean Business”

August 31, 2021 / Faculty/Staff Highlights

NOVA President Anne M. Kress has been recognized as one of Washington Business Journal’s 2021 “Women Who Mean Business.” Since 2003, the Journal has named some of Washington’s most prominent women leaders, in all sectors, to their “Women Who Mean Business” list. Honorees are selected from a panel of judges who are previous awardees as well as Washington Business Journal staff members; and they are chosen based on their commitment to community service, strong leadership skills and continuing success in their field.

Kress was chosen, along with 24 other women leaders, including chief-level officers, partners and presidents in finance, education, public policy, law, consulting, construction, healthcare, communications and non-profit. All honorees have proven themselves to be established business leaders with a strong record of innovation in their fields, outstanding performance in their businesses and/or a clear track record of meaningful community involvement.

A ceremony in honor of this year’s Women Who Mean Business will be held Oct. 7, and a complete profile on each woman will be published In the Oct. 8 issue.

She hasn’t been here long, but we knew from the start the tremendous value our new president brings to NOVA. Now word is getting out. Congratulations, Dr. Kress, on this recognition—We couldn’t be more proud!
