OIR Expands Data Close to Practice Program for Fall

August 31, 2021 / General NOVA News

NOVA’s Office of Institutional Research is pleased to announce the expansion of its Data Close to Practice program for the fall 2021 semester. Our goals for the program include improving data literacy across the College; fostering a culture of data inquiry and evidence; and supporting faculty and staff in identifying practices, policies and programs to help every student succeed.

Through more than 30 meetings across all campuses during its launch semester in spring 2021, data coaches introduced initial groups of faculty and staff known as Campus and unit data teams, to the College’s data resources, including its interactive data dashboards.

In fall 2021, the Campus and Unit Data Team members, working alongside the data coaches, will familiarize broader groups of participants, known as early adopters, with NOVA’s existing data dashboards. Meanwhile, the data coaches will introduce new data dashboards and resources to the Campus and unit data teams. Like the Campus and unit data teams, members of the early adopter group include faculty and staff who seek to use institutional data to inform their practices as they work to support NOVA’s students. The data coaches look forward to the program’s activities in fall 2021! Click here for more information about Data Close to Practice.
