Interim Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success
Dr. Syedur Rahman, NOVA’s Associate Vice President for Enrollment Services, will serve as the interim Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success.
Vice President Frances Villagran-Glover has shared that her last day at NOVA will be September 17, so Dr. Rahman is beginning his interim role immediately to support a smooth transition in division leadership.
Dr. Rahman, who holds a doctorate in public administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, has a career in higher education that spans more than 25 years. After working for fifteen years at Penn State University, he joined us at NOVA, serving for a decade as the Director and, subsequently, Associate Vice President for international student services. In this role, he was responsible for leading all aspects of services and programming for our large international student population, while also heading grant sponsored programs. More recently, as Associate Vice President for Enrollment Services, Dr. Rahman has played a broader leadership role in the student services division.
Thank you to all who submitted letters of interest for this opportunity. The commitment to our students and outstanding qualifications made this selection process a challenging one, which speaks so highly of the talented team at NOVA.
Congratulations again to Dr. Villagran-Glover on her new position as President of Houston Community College’s Southeast Campus. We thank her for her service to our college and community.
NOVA has engaged Greenwood/Asher to assist in the search for the next Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success. A search committee is being formed and will be announced in the next two weeks, with a goal of having the this position filled in early 2022.
