Poet Javier Ávila to Offer Two Performances of “The Trouble with My Name,” Today, 10 and 1

As part of our Hispanic Heritage Month programming and monthly DEI Spotlight Events for faculty, staff and students, NOVA is proud to announce a high-energy performance of The Trouble with My Name, a one-man show performed by award winning poet and author Javier Ávila. 

There will be two performances on today:

  • 10 a.m., on the Alexandria Campus in the AFA Building, Room 118
  • 1 p.m. on the Annandale Campus in the Ernst Cultural Center

The 45-minute performances will be followed by a 15-minute Q&A with the performer. Admission is free. The event will be recorded. After the event concludes, you may check https://www.nvcc.edu/diversity/events.html for when the recording is posted. It is expected that all DEI Spotlight events will be posted at this link.
