NOVA’s Teacher Ed. Program Teams with Mason, EduTutorVA to Help K-12 Students

September 15, 2021 / General NOVA News

NOVA’s Teacher Education Program has partnered with George Mason University and EduTutorVA to help local K-12 students in need of tutoring services. NOVA students interested In gaining teaching experience and desiring to help local K-12 students have a great opportunity to support local K-12 students through virtual tutoring. Tutors will create their own schedules and receive helpful training.

  1. Tutors only work three hours per week, virtually tutoring two students at the elementary, middle or high school levels, based on their preference.
  2. The three hours can be divided across two days of one-and-a-half hours each or three days of one hour each.
  3. New tutors will be paid $15 per hour and returning tutors, starting with the second semester, will make $20 per hour.
  4. The fall 2021 session will run from Tuesday, Oct. 12 through Friday, Dec. 10.

If you know of students interested in supporting our local schools, please email Ashley Wilkins, Teacher Education Program Head.
