NOVA Announces Employee Resource Group Program: Calls for ERG Co-Leads!

September 16, 2021 / General NOVA News

NOVA’s Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion is pleased to announce the first step in creating Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).  ERGs are employee led affinity groups that provide mentorship, networking, and opportunities to cultivate shared learning around DEI issues.  ERGs are open to all faculty and staff members.

  1. The first step in establishing an ERG is identifying three co-leads. An ERG should have a teaching faculty member, a classified staff member and an administrative or professional faculty member in the co-lead position.
  2. NOVA is currently seeking co-leads for the following ERGs:
  • Asian American and Native Pacific Islander ERG
  • African American/Black Diaspora ERG
  • Disability/Ability  ERG
  • Interfaith & Spirituality  ERG
  • Hispanic/Latina/Latino/Latinx ERG
  • LGBTQIA ERG (Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, Intersex, Queer and/or Questioning, and Asexual and/or Ally)
  • Women In Higher Education ERG

Please email a letter of interest to become an ERG Co-Lead to the Chief, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer by Friday October 15, 2021. If you have an interest in starting a different ERG, please contact the Chief Diversity Equity and Inclusion Officer.  A formal process for additional ERG proposals will be available by Spring 2022.
