Students Meet Students thru Global Solutions Conversations! Apply by Sept. 24
Are you or your students interested in cultural exchange and connecting with students from Iraq or Jordan? Interested in discussing sustainability and making a difference in your community? Join the virtual conversation and remix your community for sustainability!
Students from select schools in the U.S., Jordan and Iraq will meet live in bi-national groups to discuss global challenges inspired by the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Through a six-week virtual exchange consisting of six bi-national calls during October and November 2021. students practice cross-cultural collaboration and learn about each other’s cultures as they engage in the process of design thinking and discuss global issues in their communities. Individual teams brainstorm a community project idea to support increased sustainability in their communities.
Participants will receive a certificate of participation; become alumni of the Department of State and professional development opportunities and receive badges for skills earned to add to their C.V.
Global Solutions is funded by the Stevens Initiative, which is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, with funding provided by the U.S. government and is administered by the Aspen Institute.
If interested, contact Group Faculty Advisor Samrawit Washington, SWashington@nvcc.edu. Deadline for students to express interest is Friday, Sept. 24.
