Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC), Oct. 1 thru Dec. 31

October 1, 2021 / HR News/Training

We hope you have had the opportunity to review Governor Northam’s September 24 communication regarding this year’s Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign. Sonia Aboulhosn on the Benefits Team in Human Resources will again be serving as this year’s campaign coordinator for NOVA and requests your participation and support.

The 2021 Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC) will run from October 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021. Throughout the campaign, faculty and staff will have the opportunity to support a wide range of human service and support agencies throughout the region. Employees may support one or more agencies through payroll deduction or can make a one-time cash or check donation.  This is a great opportunity to support organizations whose mission we want to advance and no donation amount is too small. For as little as $2.00 per day, you can make a difference by donating to one of the more than 907 available charities.  Remember, it’s not what we give, it’s that we give!

A listing of charitable organizations can be found online where the various activities supported by the CVC to include detailed information on how charities are chosen, FAQs, success stories and more are displayed.  Employees may make their selections online by simply clicking DONATE.  Donations may be designated for one specific charity or multiple charities throughout the region. Once the campaign period ends on December 31, 2021, pledged donations through payroll deduction will begin with the January 16, 2022 pay date.

This year, more than ever, we see and hear in the daily news of the immense and immediate needs of our charitable community. The CVC is the one statewide activity each year when our entire college community can work as a team by supporting a wide variety of organizations that improve the quality of life for people in the communities where we live and work.  Whether you use payroll deduction or make an outright gift, all contributions make a difference.  We are confident that NOVA will do its part to help those who count on our support because we are NOVA strong!

Thank you in advance to our NOVA community! If you have any questions, please contact Sonia Aboulhosn directly at saboulhosn@nvcc.edu or (703) 323-3119.
