Did You Know? Alexandria Vaccination Clinic Now Has Pfizer Booster for Eligible People

The Alexandria Health Department (AHD) and its vaccinating partner Red Sea Homecare agency (RSHA) are currently offering open vaccine scheduling until Dec. 13.  NOVA is strongly encouraging everyone who is able to get vaccinated to do so.  Schedule your appointment today. 

Red Sea Homecare agency is now able to administer Pfizer booster shots (see information below).

Location/Dates/Times:

  • NOVA Alexandria Campus, Fine Arts Building, Room AFA–103 (Blackbox Theatre)
  • Monday – Friday, 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
  • Walk-ins Welcome Between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
  • Saturdays – Scheduled Appointments only:  REGISTER HERE
  • The Vaccination Clinic is CLOSED on the following dates:
    • Tuesday, Nov. 2 (Election Day)
    • Thursday, Nov. 25 (Thanksgiving National Holiday)
    • Friday, Nov. 26 (Thanksgiving National Holiday weekend)
    • Note:  If the college is officially closed for any reason as a result of inclement weather, etc., the clinic will be cancelled.

Red Sea Booster Shots:
The CDC recommendation is now official and suggests booster shots for adults who have received a complete Pfizer series at least 6 months ago, and who meet the following criteria:

  • people aged 65 years and older (should receive a booster)
  • people aged 18 years and older in long-term care settings, people aged 50–64 years with underlying medical conditions (should receive a booster)
  • people aged 18–49 years with underlying medical conditions (may receive a booster)
  • people aged 18–64 years at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting (may receive a booster), including: 
    • First responders (healthcare workers, firefighters, police, congregate care staff)
    • Education staff (teachers, support staff, daycare workers)
    • Food and agriculture workers
    • Manufacturing workers
    • Corrections workers
    • U.S. Postal Service workers
    • Public transit workers
    • Grocery store workers

The Booster is only available to individuals who have received a complete Pfizer series. 
Moderna and J&J booster doses are not available at this time, and vaccine series are not interchangeable.
