VIVA Open Access Read and Publish Opportunity

VIVA (Virginia’s Academic Library Consortium) has announced an open-access (OA) read and publish deal with Rockefeller University Press (RUP) within three RUP journals: Journal of Cell Biology (VIVA’s shared subscription for many years), Journal of Experimental Medicine, and Journal of General Physiology. 

This new read and publish agreement includes both a content expansion (all participants will have read access to all three titles – RUP has already granted access) and publication costs (corresponding authors at the participating institutions including NOVA will be able to publish open access articles at no charge). This is a two year agreement, beginning January 1, 2022 and running through December 31, 2023. Authors will be able to retain the copyright on their work and have the option to publish using a Creative Commons license.
