Be a NOVA Maker – Upcoming Sessions
NOVA Makers is a special program in which members can use the NOVA Fab Lab to work on personal projects and be part of a Maker Community. Membership is open to NOVA students, faculty and staff and high school students.
Safety & Orientation – Saturday, Oct. 23, 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.
This introductory session is required of new members and provides an overview of the lab, safety procedures, available opportunities and a one-year membership to NOVA Makers.
Machine Certification: Laser Cutters –Saturday, Oct. 23, 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
This session prepares you for using the laser cutters and engravers in the lab. Topics include laser cutter safety, applications, how to prepare design files, overview of design software options, types of materials that can be used, and more. This certification is required before using any of the laser cutters during Open Labs. Participants must have completed a Safety & Orientation session prior to attending.
Open Labs – Multiple Sessions
These sessions are for NOVA Maker members to work on their personal projects. Fab Lab staff will be on-site for guidance and technical support. You must be a member and have completed Safety & Orientation and Machine Certification sessions. Registration required in advance or at the door.
