NOVA Online Teaching Webinar with Professor Heather Flor, Nov. 5
As part of our on-going support for faculty who are teaching hybrid and online courses at NOVA, NOVA Online has been offering a series of college-wide webinars shared by our amazing faculty colleagues to promote best practices each semester. The intent of these webinars is to build a community of learning and collaboration, to foster a growth mindset and to refine our practices in teaching as reflective educators.
The upcoming webinar will be Friday, November 5 from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. Professor Heather Flor from Loudoun Campus will present Small Changes, Big Impact: Teaching Through Connections and Care to Support Academic Success in Hybrid and Online Courses. Building connections with students is especially important for instructors in hybrid and online courses where personal interaction is largely or entirely digital. After the webinar, participants will take away practical ideas to create small changes and make a big impact on students’ learning engagement, course completion and academic success in hybrid and online courses.
