VDH and CDC Issue COVID-19 Booster Guidance

Thank you again to all NOVA employees as we continue to monitor full compliance with Governor Northam’s Executive Directive #18. Currently, there is no scheduled expiration date for Executive Directive #18, which is in effect until further notice.

Employees who are not vaccinated or are just partially vaccinated (meaning they have received only one vaccination dose in a two-dose series or that two weeks following the last inoculation has not yet passed) are required to continue to submit the weekly COVID-19 testing attestation. Information and FAQs are posted on NOVAnet on the COVID-19 Employee Vaccination and Testing Status webpage.

As posted in the Daily Flyer, the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) has announced that all faculty and staff at institutions of higher education are eligible for COVID-19 booster shots. NOVA encourages employees who are fully vaccinated to follow CDC guidance on getting booster shots; however, please be advised that at this time, employees are not required to disclose whether they have received a booster shot or submit their booster documentation.

NOVA Human Resources will communicate to NOVA employees if there is any change regarding disclosure of COVID-19 vaccination boosters.
