Thursday, November 11
Originally established in Nov. 1919 at the end of World War I, Veteran’s Day has been observed on Nov. 11 ever since, regardless of on which day it falls. To learn more about NOVA’s Commitment to and support of current and former members of the armed forces, visit the Office of Military and Veteran Services.

Friday, November 12
History Reading Group, 1 p.m. (Virtual) This month the History Reading Group will discuss Annette Gordon-Reed’s On Juneteenth, which HRG organizer Professor Nathaniel Green describes as “an insightful meditation on the holiday’s meaning, and the history of emancipation, from a Pulitzer Prize-winner.”
