NOVA Kicks Off College Master Planning Process

November 12, 2021 / General NOVA News

On Monday, Nov. 1 there was a kickoff meeting regarding the NOVA Master Plan 2022. This is a significant event since this will be the first comprehensive master plan that the college has embarked on over two decades.  The timing of the initiative provides the perfect opportunity to look at all short and long term planning efforts thru the ONE NOVA lens.

The NOVA Master Plan will be primarily driven by NOVA’s Strategic Plan 2017-2023: Pathway to the American Dream and VCCS’s Opportunity 2027 Strategic Plan. The alignment of the master plan with these strategic initiatives will provide a framework for a flexible and comprehensive plan that will address the college’s needs over the next 10 to 20 years.

The planning process is scheduled to occur over a 12- to 18-month period. The Planning Team is led by Ayers Saint Gross, an internationally recognized architectural, planning and design firm based in Washington, D.C.

The process will include a series of meetings and workshops where all members of the NOVA community will have an opportunity to engage and collaborate. These workshops will provide the opportunity to listen to all stakeholders, interpret data, present ideas and build consensus on how the physical campuses can support the mission and vision of NOVA.
