More Life Changing Study Abroad Opps for Students! Cyprus, Czech Republic, Scotland 2022
“Community college students are widely underrepresented in the study abroad arena,” says Leeza Fernand, associate director of NOVA’s Office of International Education & Sponsored Programs. “Whereas 11 percent of university students take advantage of opportunities to study abroad, only 2 percent of community college students do.”
What a shame! Studying abroad helps college students broaden their view of the world! They make lifelong friendships and open their minds to new ideas and encounters. Study abroad “allows for exposure to new cultures, different pedagogical methodologies and building of language skills, which all serve as professional and personal development opportunities that students will carry with them for life,” Fernand says.
