2022 Spring Semester Internship
January 2022 – May 2022
The district office of Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton (VA10) is now accepting applications for our 2022 spring internship program. Interns are provided an opportunity to gain valuable work experience while learning more about government functions and constituent services. Our district office runs from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, but we can offer some flexibility on hours to accommodate college class schedules. The position will be remote but will require the intern to collect and drop off equipment at the district office. Our interns are valued part of our staffing team and play a key role in representing the Congresswoman and supporting her constituents, often servicing as that important first point of contact with our office.
Responsibilities range from answering phones, directing calls, processing messages, preparing and providing resources and information for constituents, writing correspondence, logging constituent communication, supporting staff members with constituent casework, attending meetings and preparing summary notes, researching issues, and providing support to staff with planning special events and projects. To be eligible to apply, students must be a resident of Virginia and enrolled in an accredited college or university. We are seeking applicants with interest in public policy, community service, and the legislative process.
Interested candidates may complete the internship application at https://wexton.house.gov/services/internships.htm. Applications are due by Monday, Dec. 13.
