Saturday, Dec. 4  

Mini-Workshop: Laser Cut Holiday Decorations 
10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Open to the Public 
This come-and-go workshop allows participants to personalize and laser cut a holiday decoration. No cost and no registration required. 

Fab Lab Tours 
10 a.m. until 2 p.m. (on the half-hour)
Open to the Public
 
Guided tours will be provided and participants will be able to view the spaces and equipment in the Makerspace, Woodshop, and college Mechatronics labs.  No cost and no registration required.  

NOVA Makers – Safety Orientation & 3D Printing Machine Certification 
1 p.m. until 2 p.m.:  Safety & Orientation 
2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.: 
3D Printing Machine Certification 
This program allows faculty, staff, college students, and high school students to use the lab to work on personal projects.  A NOVA Fab Lab membership, a safety and orientation training, and machine specific certifications are provided and required as part of this program.  Register in advance or at the door.   

Monday, Dec. 6  

Dominating our Design Challenge: Learning the Tools 
6 p.m. until 8 p.m.:  College, High School, and Middle School Students 
Come to the Fab Lab to see some cool equipment demonstrations and prepare for our upcoming Design Challenge!  This in-person session will focus on four common fabrication technologies: laser cutting, 3D printing, CNC routing, and plastic thermoforming.  Details on how to compete in our challenge and the prizes involved will be discussed.  Registration required in advance or at the door at http://fablab.novastem.us/DODC.pdf.  No cost thanks to our sponsor, BAE Systems.
