Enjoy This Week’s CommonHealth Weekly Wellnote

December 6, 2021 / HR News/Training

There are great ways to exercise while traveling for the holidays! Travel comes along with the holiday season and for some of us, that may mean the loss of your usual exercise routine and equipment. However, it is possible to fit in some exercise and avoid the typical five-pound weight gain.

WALK or RUN
When you don’t have access to your favorite cardio machine, why not go outside for a walk or run? Even if it’s chilly, going for a brisk stroll is a good way to walk off that rich holiday meal.

RESISTANCE BANDS
It is tough to take a weight training routine on the road. Resistance bands, which are affordable and easily portable, are something you can throw in your luggage. They come in different colors for different intensity levels. They may not be able to provide the same heavy lifting workout as dumbbells, but they do offer something similar that can fit into the palm of your hand.

LOOK ONLINE
On YouTube, there are all kinds of workout videos — anything from yoga to calisthenics. It is easy to find guided routines where it’s all spelled out for you and you can follow along.

Remember, your fitness journey shouldn’t stop just because of the busy holidays! Here is a quick 7-minute routine that requires no equipment.

Stay well!
