NOVA’s 2022 MLK Jr. Day of Service, Jan. 17th
NOVA is starting the semester with service! As we continue to prioritize safety and well-being through the ongoing impacts of the pandemic, our MLK Jr. Day of Service has been shifted to a fully virtual event. The partnership with Volunteer Fairfax and the card making initiative for Title 1 educators remain in place. Ahead of the service experience, our virtual program will include:
- words from Dr. Nathan Carter
- keynote message from published author and life coach, Mrs. Yvette Urqhart
- original poetry from NOVA alum, Jordyn Green
- closing video message of Dr. King’s legendary “I Have A Dream” speech as recited by few of NOVA’s students, staff, and faculty
There is a two-step registration process for full participation.
- Sign-Up as a card making volunteer via Volunteer Fairfax to receive card making information digitally. Also, consider incorporating your younger family members and volunteering for Give Together via Volunteer Fairfax to receive a full digital guidebook.
- Register for our Zoom event set for Monday, January 17 at 10 a.m.
Volunteer Fairfax also offers additional opportunities to serve throughout their MLK Weekend of Service.
We look forward to seeing you all for a bit on Monday morning. Let’s start this year serving together!
