Issuing and Closing Alerts in Navigate

February 3, 2022 / Tech Notes & Training

Early Alert features in Navigate are targeted to streamline the processes for helping connect students with faculty and professional advisors. The early alert feature creates a seamless process for NOVA faculty/staff to alert students that they aren’t doing well in a course and to offer resources to help students succeed in their courses. NOVA’s Early Alert tool has two features: one-off alerts and progress survey alerts. Faculty can raise alerts for various reasons using the one-off alert feature at any time in the semester.  This provides timely feedback and allows students to use the feedback to improve their performance in the course. The progress survey alerts allow NOVA to remind faculty before mid-term to provide feedback so students can improve their performance and their course grade using suggested resources.
