Seeking Your Feedback on NOVA’s Committee Structure

February 3, 2022 / General NOVA News

We want to hear from you. Committees are an essential part of NOVA’s shared governance structure, and it is important to review the committee structure periodically to ensure the health and wellbeing of decision making at NOVA. To that end, we will begin a review of our committee structure over the next few weeks, and we seek faculty and staff input as we move forward.

The purpose of the review is to ensure that collegewide committees are effective, responsive and relevant. The review is initiated by NOVA’s President every four years, which includes participation from Administrative Council and College Senate.

In preparation for the review, an ad hoc committee, recommended by College Senate, developed definitions for standing committees, working groups and ad hoc committees. Those definitions may be found here.

Over the next few weeks, we will utilize ThoughtExchange software to solicit your feedback about collegewide committees. ThoughtExchange is easy to use and provides an opportunity to give feedback anonymously and rate statements offered by others who respond to the exchange. NOVA’s Committee Structure ThoughtExchange may be found here

Thank you for your participation in this review.
