Karen Todd Named Manassas Campus Community Outreach Coordinator
The Manassas Campus is excited to welcome Karen Todd as their new Campus and Community Relations Coordinator. She will be managing outreach to target communities, assisting with event planning for internal and external events and coordinating campus communications.
Karen has worked for NOVA for 16 years, serving in various positions within the Office of Student Services at the Woodbridge Campus.
Well recognized for her advocacy and engagement with students, she served in her previous role as High School Outreach Coordinator for Prince William County, Manassas City and Manassas Park Schools as well as other secondary educational institutions in the region. Her communication skills have been instrumental in the development of various marketing materials and media resources like the Become A Nighthawk Video Series and NOVANotes Newsletter, both used as key resources to successfully facilitate recruitment and enrollment.
Karen has also actively collaborated with faculty and staff building new programs at the campus and College level, like Discover NOVA Webinars and Virtual Open House events, promoting the college and educating prospective students, business leaders and local constituents on NOVA’s many programs, services and resources. Her partnership efforts with external organizations and businesses such as OmniRide resulted in the acquisition of the OmniRide College Pass, helping to provide thousands of students with access to affordable public transportation and forging a relationship with the PRTC to consider additional transit routes, more conducive to the needs of NOVA students.
Karen holds a Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Art & Advertising and served as president of her own Marketing & Advertising Agency, previously based in Richmond, Va. She has four children and is a 23-year resident of Woodbridge.
She is looking forward to meeting her colleagues at Manassas and getting acclimated to the new campus and community service area. Please welcome her in her new role.
