Below are a few of the events and activities that President Kress participated in this week.
Sunday, Feb. 6 through Wednesday, Feb. 9: 2022 Community College National Legislative Summit
This week, Dr. Kress and members of the College Board attended the National Legislative Summit at the Washington Marriott Marquis. The conference ran from Sunday, Feb. 6 through Wednesday, Feb. 9 and was hosted by the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT), in collaboration with the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC).
Tuesday, Feb. 8: District Dialogues Discussion on the Future of Work
Dr. Kress spoke at the most recent installment of ‘District Dialogues,’ a forum hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond that gives community members a unique opportunity to engage with experts about prevailing issues facing the region and beyond. This session focused on exploring how the future of work is changing human capital decisions, and what skills are needed in the economy of tomorrow.
Kress, joined by guests Kristen Broady, a Brookings Institution fellow and professor of financial economics at Dillard University (La.) and Jeff Strohl, director of research at the Georgetown University Center of Education and Workforce, discussed how to help individuals make the transition to jobs that are less likely to be automated in a hybrid world. Thursday, Feb. 10: Student Zoom Office Hours
Dr. Kress held her February Office Hours for Students yesterday Thursday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m.
