“Mindfulness at Work” Virtual Book Group to Begin March 21

March 18, 2022 / Events

Drs. Cheri Lemieux Spiegel and Paul Fitzgerald invite you to the “Mindfulness at Work” Virtual Book Group to be held Monday, March 21 through Thursday, May 5, via Canvas and Zoom. Enroll Today*

Ah, the second half of the Spring Semester has arrived! For many, this time of warming weather and sunshine is also a period of increased stress and pressure. What might it look like to navigate these final weeks with mindfulness, care and community? It’s in this spirit that we’re offering a college-wide, virtual reading group for the final weeks of the term! Will you consider joining us and other peers as we walk these final weeks together?

This seven-week series comprises weekly (brief!) readings from the book, Mindfulness at Work by Maria Arpa, which has been made available in eBook thanks to NOVA Libraries! Additionally, two physical copies of the book are available at the Annandale Campus Library (thank you, Melanie Medina!).

Attendees will be invited to participate in weekly discussion board threads wherein reflections, experiences and questions may be shared. Additionally, we will host a weekly, 60-minute Zoom session where we can discuss our experiences around the topic with others and explore what it means to be mindful at work.

While the spirit of this group will be focused on virtual engagement, we will host an end-of-study gathering for those who are able to attend. That event will be held on Thursday, May 5 from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on the Annandale Campus, Room CM-332.

Please join the Canvas course for the Annandale Center for Contemplative Practice (ACCP). Once you Self Enroll, you’ll see the ACCP’s landing page and be able to access the weekly group materials by clicking the “Go to Content” button or selecting modules from the left-hand side menu.

Thank you for your interest in this opportunity! We hope we will get to share it with you!
