March 24, 2022 / Faculty/Staff Highlights

Alan Golombek, assistant professor at NOVA’s Alexandria Campus, is a ballroom dance instructor, who also teaches a variety of information technology courses. Golombek, along with his dance partner and wife Thuy, took all First Place awards at the USA Dance Mid-Atlantic Regional Dance Competition held the weekend of March 19. This win qualifies them to compete in the National Championships.

Golombek teaches ballroom dancing at NOVA (PED-171). And, well, he also teaches various IT courses.

“I have been dancing for over 15 years,” he said. “My wife, Thuy, and I won the competition as a couple. We have been dancing competitively and teaching dance for approximately 10 years.”

Congratulations, Prof. Golombek!
