Save The Date: QEP Summer Institute, August 10-12
Please save the date for NOVA’s inaugural QEP Professional Development Institute, which will take place August 10-12, 2022. Designed for ENG 111 faculty, the three-day institute is composed of highly interactive keynote workshops that will support faculty in designing transparent, problem-centered assignments for students. Participants will also be introduced to Culturally Responsive Pedagogy. Participants will receive compensation for attending the Institute. While the 2022 Institute focuses on ENG 111 faculty, future Institutes will welcome faculty and staff from across disciplines. ENG 111 adjunct and full-time faculty interested in attending the 2022 summer Institute will be invited to apply in April. The application will be announced in a future Daily Flyer. Please contact Indigo Eriksen if you have questions about the Institute, ieriksen@nvcc.edu.
A Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is part of a college’s accreditation process with Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The purpose of a QEP is to advance the quality of higher education at NOVA by completing a five-year project that focuses on student learning outcomes and/or student success. NOVA’s QEP, Writing Ourselves In: Developing Our Voices For Equity & Excellence, was developed based on feedback from students, faculty and staff. The QEP is directed by NOVA’s Office of Academic Affairs and the vice president for academic affairs & chief academic officer. NOVA’s QEP is devoted to improving student success in college writing while strengthening their ability to use writing to articulate their ideas, experiences and identities.
