Using Virtual Worlds to Enhance Your Course Workshop, Wednesday at 11
If you are looking for alternative ways to engage your students, consider attending “Using Virtual Worlds to Enhance Your Course.” Virtual worlds provide an immersive 3D environment that many instructors in higher education are using with their students as an exciting teaching tool. NOVA has a region in a virtual world called Second Life (SL) that has over 20 educational activities to enhance student learning. This virtual workshop will explain the many ways instructors have used SL with their students and provide ideas on how you can incorporate SL into your courses.
NOVA’s Second Life region currently has activities for biology, geology, language, healthcare, art and more! Help is available via tutorials, handouts and videos as well as a thriving virtual education community.
