Celebrate Diversity in April By Participating in a Healing Circle Experience

March 31, 2022 / Events

April is officially Celebrate Diversity Month, a time to recognize and celebrate diverse cultures, perspectives and communities while drawing attention to the common humanity in all people.

As part of  NOVA’s DEI programming in April for Celebrate Diversity Month, we invite you to take time to join a healing circle (on campus or online). Share your stories and thoughts about the importance of diversity.

NOVA’s Healing Circles are an extension of our efforts as an official AAC&U Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation Center. The concept of “racial healing” emphasizes the importance of small group discussions, with a focus on kindness, storytelling, deep listening and advancing racial healing through connecting with others, honoring each person’s humanity and building stronger relationships by sharing stories and perspectives.

We look forward to offering several healing circles in the month of April for NOVA faculty or staff.

If you would like to sign up to participate in one of the Celebrate Diversity Healing Circles (on campus or virtually), please review the available dates and times and use the Sign-Up Genius Link to find an open slot. Participants need to be present for the duration of the time indicated in the Sign-up Genius. Space is limited to preserve the small group setting.

NOVA’s Celebrate Diversity Healing Circles will be facilitated by two trained TRHT Co-facilitators.
