Fuel Assistance Grants to be Awarded to Students

March 31, 2022 / Our Nighthawks

We understand that rising gas prices and inflation are taking a financial toll on students. To alleviate some of the burden, NOVA will provide $400 fuel assistance grants to most spring semester students to help offset the higher transportation costs of commuting to campus.

Students who are enrolled in at least one in-person course during the Spring 2022 semester will automatically be considered for these grants; no application is required. The funds will be posted in the students’ accounts and disbursed in accordance with their NOVA refund preference. Eligible students have been notified by email.

The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF III), provided under the American Rescue Plan (ARP), will be used to fund these grants.

Dual enrollment students, non-curricular students, students who dropped or withdrew from all spring 2022 courses and students who are only taking online courses during Spring 2022, are not eligible to receive the fuel assistance grant.
