NOVA Launches Coat Drive for the People of Ukraine, April 1 thru 15

March 31, 2022 / General NOVA News

NOVA is partnering with the Northern Virginia Regional Commission to launch a coat donation effort called NOVA Cares About Ukraine: 2 Weeks to 2,000!  The coat drive begins on Friday, April 1, and will end on Friday, April 15. During this time, new coats and/or gently used coats and jackets can be dropped off in the Office of Student Life on any NOVA campus.

According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, more than three million residents of Ukraine have fled their country due to the Russian invasion. More than two million people have arrived in neighboring Poland. Many of these Ukrainian men, women and children are in need of care and important resources. NOVA and the Northern Virginia Regional Commission will answer the call for help.

During the NOVA Cares About Ukraine: 2 Weeks To 2,000 coat drive, members of the NOVA community are invited to make a difference by bringing clean coats (new or gently used) to any Campus Office of Student Life. After the drive, NOVA will deliver the donations to the Northern Virginia Regional Commission so they can send the coats to people in need overseas.

The Northern Virginia Regional Commission is a thirteen-member regional council of local governments in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C. The commission’s primary duty is to facilitate local government cooperation in addressing problems of greater than local significance.

Let’s work together as one College community to show that NOVA Cares!
