Faculty Regalia Orders Due Today, April 6!

We are looking forward to seeing you at NOVA’s Spring 2022 Commencement! It means so much to our students to see the faculty and staff there to cheer them on at the finish line. 

Here is the link to the Herff Jones faculty regalia website for rentals and instructions. Orders must be placed today, April 6! 

Please follow the prompts to complete your order. Unfortunately, the company has shifted to a new ordering system, so faculty who have ordered in the past cannot simply re-order for this year. You must follow all the prompts.

  • Click on: Northern Virginia Community College 
  • Choose your campus 
  • Faculty: Choose your degree type (bachelor, masters, doctorate) 
  • Click on: Cap & Gown 

The Commencement Committee understands that, due to the convenience, some faculty choose to rent regalia instead of digging out their own. Given the expense of renting (which varies from around $75 for Masters to $100 for Doctoral regalia), however, the Committee requests that you please use your regalia rather than adding to what has consistently been the second largest budget item for commencement. If you do need to order regalia, please make every effort to attend. In years past, some faculty who have ordered regalia did not attend the ceremony. The College wants to continue supporting faculty in this important event. The Committee asks for your help in making this possible.  

If you encounter any difficulties with the rental process, please contact your local campus bookstore manager. Again, orders must be placed by April 6th 

*** Finally, if you are attending Spring Commencement, please click here to complete a short RSVP. The RSVP is important for our planning purposes. We need to make arrangements for seating and for ordering light refreshments.
