Below are a few of the events and activities that President Kress participated in this week.
Monday-Tuesday, April 3-4
Attended the ASU-GSV Conference in San Diego: The ASU+GSV Summit “connects leading minds around education and skills to ensure a new era in which ALL people have equal access to the future.” The summit brings together learning and workforce technology CEOs from across the globe, investors representing $7 trillion in assets, PreK-12 leaders, Higher Education leaders, Chief Learning and Talent Officers, Policy Makers and Foundation Leaders, Social Entrepreneurs and many more leading minds.
Wednesday, April 6
Campus visit to NOVA’s Alexandria Campus
Friday, April 8
Attending Taskforce on Higher Education and Opportunity Taking Action for Our Community, New York. This meeting of 35 higher education presidents and chancellors meets to check in on their commitment to take action through three initiatives aligned with each Taskforce goal. (1) Prepare our most vulnerable students and graduates of 2020-2023 for security and success in the post-pandemic economy; (2) Support and partner with our communities and government in an inclusive recovery through and after COVID-19, focusing on displaced workers, adult learners, PK-12 systems, economic development, community health and COVID-19 support and (3) Re-imagine the Future of Higher Education in terms of how we deliver quality and accessible education, and how we evolve our programs to prepare for the future of work and for a post-pandemic world. The Taskforce will achieve tangible results that are specific to each institution’s unique mission and context.
