QEP News You Can Use!

April 8, 2022 / General NOVA News

Attached is the first of many QEP Newsletters (QEP Spring 2022 Newsletter) that includes news you can use, including the dates of the first QEP Institute this summer, some sample assignments from your colleagues and the contact information for your fabulous QEP Leads: Holly Abbe (LO), Indigo Eriksen (WO), Cathy Gaiser (AN), Chalet Jean-Baptiste (MA), Sarah B Wilson (AL) and Karen Sutter Doheney (college-wide). Thanks to Chalet for this beautiful newsletter (see attached), to Sarah and Karen for being our assessment gurus, to Cathy and Holly for their work on the QEP Canvas site (wait til you see it!), and to Indigo for her work on the Institute (it is going to be amazing).

I am thrilled to announce that Indio Eriksen and Karen Sutter Doheney have agreed to be the co-coordinators for the QEP. They have done exemplary work this semester. They are clear-eyed advocates for students and faculty as well as being big dreamers with the skills to get things done. We are so lucky they stepped up to take on these challenging roles!

As they step into their new roles, we will be looking for two new leads to join the team. This fall, we will be launching the professional learning committees and so we are hoping to have a new WO representative and an additional AN representative to provide support to faculty as we launch for first official semester of the QEP. There is an opportunity for compensated summer work on the QEP and reassigned time or supplemental pay during the nine-month contract. I encourage you to consider this opportunity: This core QEP committee has been one of the best I have every served on – not only is the work meaningful and enriching (I learn something every meeting from my colleagues), but the team also works well together and, dare I say this, the meetings are actually fun. If you are interested, please talk to one of our leads or to me.
