NOVA Fact: Gender Enrollment Across the Years

Between fall 2017 and fall 2021, the number of male first-time in college students at NOVA increased from 6,568 students to 8,510 students, an increase of 30 percent. However, during this time, the total number of male students at the College decreased, from 24,807 students to 22,717 students, a decrease of 8 percent.

Between fall 2017 and fall 2021, the number of female first-time in college students at NOVA increased from 6,486 students to 9,502 students, an increase of 47 percent. During this time, the total number of female students at the College was relatively stable at 26,383 students in Fall 2017 and 26,397 students in Fall 2021.

NOVA’s Office of Strategic Insights (OSI), hopes these weekly NOVA facts will build awareness of the College’s institutional data. OSI personnel conduct studies, publish research reports, administer programs and provide consultancy services to help faculty and staff implement the College’s mission and vision in accordance with its strategic plan.
