Enhanced Email Security Settings Effective Today!

April 26, 2022 / Tech Notes & Training

Starting today, April 26, in alignment with VCCS IT security policies and industry best practices, ITSS will implement an e-mail verification method to improve protection from email phishing, spoofing and hijacking of the @nvcc.edu domain.

If a third-party service or system is not “authorized” to send to @nvcc.edu, those emails will go to JUNK or SPAM for the recipient.

Please note that this change will NOT impact an individual’s ability to send and receive routine email with their assigned account via Outlook, Outlook Web Access (OWA) or the Outlook Mobile App on phones/tablets.

ITSS has worked over the past several weeks to configure all known third-party services and systems with the necessary security settings. If you have a third-party service or system that you believe will be impacted by this change and you have not coordinated with ITSS, please contact Shelly Ryan at snryan@nvcc.edu.
