Music is the art of arranging sound in time that shows different characteristics. Dr. Weiss will discuss the similarities and differences between sound and music, properties of sound waves and standing waves in addition to the science of musical instruments and psychoacoustics.
Dr. Alexander H. Weiss is currently a distinguished professor of physics and the chair of the physics department at the University of Texas at Arlington. He received his Ph.D. in physics from Brandeis University.
