Dr. Willie Pomeroy Accepts New Position in N.C.
It is with mixed emotions that the Office of Academic Affairs says goodbye to Dr. Willie Pomeroy. Willie has accepted an exciting opportunity with an institution in North Carolina, and today is her last official day at NOVA.
In 2010, Willie came aboard and assisted with the College’s reaffirmation of accreditation process. Since then, she has assisted with our SACSCOC fifth-year report, helped our Dual Enrollment program become the first in Virginia to achieve accreditation with the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP), kept the College in compliance by managing SACS-required reporting, served on and chaired the college-wide Policy Workgroup and, most recently, provided coordination and needed process updates for our Honors Program.
For the last 12 years, Willie has been a valuable part of the Academic Affairs team and has always jumped in where needed. We will miss her warm smile and great party-planning skills, but we certainly wish her well in her new role.
For questions about the Honors program, feel free to email honors@nvcc.edu. For questions regarding the Policy Workgroup, please contact Tykesha Myrick at tmyrick@nvcc.edu.
