Enjoy Your Colleagues’ Fun, Inspiring and Creative Haiku
Today’s topic is NOVA Spring Haiku.
Last month, in recognition of National Library Month and National Community College Month, I asked members of the NOVA community to submit one or more haiku about either libraries or community colleges (or both!).
You submitted 25 haiku, with some especially creative faculty and staff sending in more than one! You will find them at Spring 2022 Haiku, and I thank the writers for sharing their wonderful, fun and inspiring creativity.
The names of three poets were selected at random: Julie Combs, Chrystie Greges, and Jo Ann Short. I am making donations in their names to their choice of the NOVA Educational Foundation or their local library system—supporting aspiring writers and avid readers across the region.
If May were to have a NOVA-theme, it would be celebration and commencement, and I look forward to seeing you at next Sunday’s graduation ceremony as we join in honoring the achievements of our bold and brilliant NOVA Nighthawks.
