Daily Flyer to Publish Tues/Thurs Through August 11
Beginning today, May 31, the Daily Flyer will publish twice weekly, on Tuesday and Thursday, until August 11, 2022.
Please don’t forget us over the summer. Even we, “the summer people,” want to hear about your plans and accomplishments. We want to use this newsletter to announce all the great activities and events for faculty and staff, as well as announcements relevant to students so faculty and staff can share with them.
This is also a place to celebrate YOU, the ones who make it happen here at NOVA. We would like to hear about everything you’ve been doing as faculty or staff–speaking engagements; press interviews; op-eds, books or articles you’ve written; professional awards you’ve won and relevant topics of interest to your faculty and staff colleagues. This is a publication for and about you!
If you have a story idea, please submit it. Just scroll to the bottom of any issue of the Daily Flyer and click the “Submit A Story” button. This will open up another window allowing you to enter your name and email address in the form and then plug in your story. We do add “Submitted by” information for each story. Once you hit submit, the story goes right into our WordPress draft folder for consideration. Time-sensitive stories will run as soon as possible.
Also, do you have a great idea for a faculty, staff or student feature story? If so, please send your idea to dailyflyer@nvcc.edu. Include the person’s name and contact information, as well as a paragraph describing the general idea of the story. The editor of the Daily Flyer will contact you or them for details. We really like developing personal profiles to feature in the Flyer, on our social media platforms, on our website and sometimes even in a press release.
Keep in mind, advanced notice is our friend here. Please submit a completed article or story by Noon to be considered for the next issue. If you submit a story at 7 p.m., please don’t expect to see it in the next morning’s edition unless it is absolutely time critical. Once your story has been reviewed, it will be scheduled into a future edition based on space availability and the timeliness of the piece.
If you would like to explore the full breadth of communications options for your event, please submit your event via the NOVA’s Editorial Calendar and someone will be in touch with you to discuss your options.
Thank you for helping us to get the very most out of our many, many events for students, faculty, staff and the greater community!
