STEM Summer Bridge Program Sponsored by HACU and Dominion Energy
NOVA is currently accepting applications for its STEM Summer Bridge Program!
The Summer Bridge Program is sponsored by the Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities (HACU) and Dominion Energy. The goal is to increase opportunities for Hispanic and other minority students to pursue education in a STEM field. Students will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis and seats are limited. Students will take two courses, ITE-115 (Introduction to Computer Applications and Concepts) and SDV-100 (College Success Skills), earning four college credits over the five-week program. Tuition, fees, books and classroom materials will be covered through the program.
The program will be held at NOVA’s Manassas Campus, starting June 27. Classes will be in a hybrid format–on campus on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., and asynchronous online work on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
In addition to course content, Summer Bridge Program students will hear from industry speakers to learn more about the STEM fields and career opportunities and will visit NOVA’s FabLab Makerspace. Lunch will be provided on Mondays and Wednesdays.
