Happy Birthday, Title IX!

Last Thursday, June 23, marked the 50th Anniversary of the passing of Title IX. Title IX offers protection for people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance. This law extends to schools, local and state educational agencies and other similar institutions that receive federal funding from the Department of Education. This protection also covers discrimination based on sex, including sexual orientation and gender identity.
