Dr. Cathleen Cogdill Presents at Performance Funding Conference
Dr. Cathleen Cogdill, interim dean of math, science, technology and business at the Manassas Campus, presented at the June 16 Performance Funding in Higher Education: Connecting 40 Years of Policy, Research and Practice conference, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education’s Alliance for Higher Education and Democracy (AHEAD), in partnership with the American Education Research Association (AERA).
The conference was a national convening of researchers, policymakers and practitioners on performance funding, explicitly seeking to bridge gaps in policy, research and practice as a theoretically grounded forum for dialogue and exploration. The conference assembled diverse professional, academic, methodological and political participants, who fostered connections and explored research collaborations by reviewing present research and identifying future directions for studies and policy on performance funding.
Dr. Cogdill’s research, Funding Virginia Community Colleges During a Recessionary Period: Impact of Utilizing an Outcomes-Based Funding Model, supported the session topic: How Does PBF Affect Diverse Institutions and Students? She was the only presenter of several distinguished educators, dedicated to community colleges.
