You Can Change Language Settings in Canvas

In Canvas, there are two things that can help students that have language preferences other than English (the default):

1. Edit language preference under Account in Global Navigation. To do this, select Account in your Global Navigation, then select Settings. On the right side of the screen, select edit settings and then update your language preference. PLEASE NOTE: this only changes the language in the Navigation settings and not any text written on the instructor’s page.

2. Canvas users can read and listen to some pages and assignments using Immersive Reader. Immersive Reader displays on the top right of pages and assignments that includes instructor written text. Users can navigate to the top right and select Immersive Reader. Once opened, select the book icon to edit reading preferences (found on the top right) and choose the language translation to read or listen.
