Faculty Open Call: Lead Cybersecurity Study Abroad to Scotland in Summer 2023
Are you interested in leading a study abroad program for NOVA Cybersecurity students to Scotland next Summer 2023? Let us know! This opportunity will encourage your professional development and support the global mindedness and academic development of our students. You can find more information about the program by referencing last year’s program outline and application – finalized details for Summer 2023 are forthcoming. The program for 2023 will be a hybrid program with four weeks taking place virtually in the U.S. and four weeks in Dundee, Scotland at Abertay University.
IET Faculty should submit their interest to Leeza Fernand, Associate Director of International Education & Sponsored Programs at lfernand@nvcc.edu. The submission should include:
- Reason for interest in serving as faculty lead for the Cybersecurity program.
- Previous experience leading study abroad programs, traveling abroad, living abroad, or traveling with student groups domestically or internationally.
- Proposal of how you will help promote and market this program during the Fall 2022 semester to reach students NOVA-wide. This is a crucial process in ensuring sufficient student interest (minimum program participation is 10-12 students).
- Confirmation of your ability to travel to Scotland during Fall 2022 or Spring 2023 for a one week site visit.
- Your ability to serve as faculty lead for Summer 2023
- Faculty leads for this program will not teach the class, rather audit the class and serve as responsible chaperones and emergency contacts for students abroad.
- This opportunity is open to Full-Time teaching faculty.
- Preference will be given to faculty who can commit to serving as faculty lead for two ore more years.
Deadline September 15.
One to two faculty will be selected.
