Let’s Get Active, NOVA! Faculty/Staff Fitness and Wellness Sessions

This year, in collaboration with NOVA Recreation and Wellness (“Rec Well”), Employee Wellness and Wellbeing will be providing fitness and wellness sessions designed specifically for Faculty/Staff ONLY. Below are sessions that we plan to implement.

Sit N Fit is created to provide a workout for those who prefer to perform exercises while sitting down. Consistently incorporating these low-impact exercises into your fitness routine can lessen the impact of training on your joints, improve mobility, increase strength, and help you stay active.

Yoga is great for those who are looking for a slight challenge in their yoga practice. These sessions will be medium to fast-paced yoga sequence. This will give the body a chance to warm up while still staying connected to the movement and breath. Participants feel a boost of refreshed energy and calmness after a nice powerful vinyasa/hatha flow!

Fitness Friday is a spontaneous fitness session where participants join not knowing what activities will take place. These activities are inclusive and are modified to accommodate participants attending the session.

Wellness Webinar is a series of effective and accessible tools and techniques for optimizing health and wellness through conscious awareness and self-care. In this ten-week course, the instructor will present the latest science on nutrition, exercise, sleep, brain function, stress de-escalation, and emotional resilience, in tandem with tools to shift the body-mind conversation towards greater health and wholeness.
