“Understanding and Supporting Neurodiverse Learners” Registration Now Open for Sept. 9

August 30, 2022 / Events

You are invited to attend the presentation “Understanding and Supporting Neurodiverse Learners” on Friday, September 9, from 1-2:30 on the Annandale Campus, room CM-114 or on Zoom.

The goal of this presentation is to provide information to the NOVA Community about how we can support neurodivergent students (and others) around us. Neurodiversity refers to variations in brain structures, which influence the way in which we work, learn, and experience our world. During this session, we will explain neurodiversity and the neurodiversity movement, review various types of neurodiversity, classroom considerations, and engage in a dyslexia simulation.

This is a HyFlex event and attendees can register to attend on Zoom or in-person. To attend in person on the Annandale Campus, room CM 114, please send an email to Melissa Chabot mchabot@nvcc.edu.

For more information about the Neurodiversity Project, please view our website: https://blogs.nvcc.edu/neurodiversity/ or to receive information about our upcoming events, please register here.

We are thankful to the NOVA Foundation for their generous support of this DEI InNOVAtion project!
