Volunteers Needed to Serve on College Standing Committees

August 31, 2022 / Faculty/Staff Highlights

The College Senate’s Committee on Committees invites (and encourages) you to join in NOVA’s shared governance this new academic year! There are currently vacancies on several College standing committees that need to be filled. These include vacancies on the Curriculum Committee, Organizational Development Committee, Student Services Advisory Committee and Violence Prevention Committee. Additionally, there are several opportunities to serve on the Government & Community Relations Committee.

The committee compositions are designed to be representative of all position classifications across all campuses and central offices. A form has been created for faculty and staff to use to review current vacancies and indicate their interest in volunteering to serve. Click here for more information and to access the form.

Be sure to progress to the end of the form, where you will be asked to provide your contact information and position information. Vacancies are classification and, in some cases, campus/unit specific, so please be certain your location, classification and role are appropriate for any vacancy you are interested in filling.

Your participation is essential, and we hope you will consider volunteering to serve. If you are interested in any of the current vacancies, please complete the interest form no later than Tuesday, Sept. 6. Please note: In the event of there being multiple individuals interested in the same open position, priority will be given to whoever submitted their interest form first.

If you have questions or difficulty using the interest form, please contact Mark Mannheimer, chair, Committee on Committees, at MMannheimer@nvcc.edu.
