ADVANCE Welcomes Fall 2022 Students and Receives National Recognition
ADVANCE, our transfer partnership with George Mason University, admitted over 900 students for the fall 2022 semester–its largest cohort of new students to date! This brings the total current number of ADVANCE students to almost 3,300!
Over the summer, ADVANCE was highlighted in a number of national news reports, including NBC News, Hechinger Report, and Lumina Foundation’s Focus Magazine. In June, the Aspen Institute visited with stakeholders from NOVA and Mason to learn more about ADVANCE and best practices for developing transfer partnerships. ADVANCE was also highlighted as an exemplar program in a Ted Talk from Dr. Janet Marling, executive director of the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students. This October, ADVANCE will also be featured in PBS NewsHour’s Rethinking College series.
